Pianist Lorenzo Marasso performed the 15 Inventions and Sinfonias of J.S. Bach, each paired with 15 new works (world-premieres) commissioned specifically for this occasion. McKinley joined 14 other amazing composer colleagues as part of this project, including Anne LeBaron, Michael Finnissy, Nina C. Young, Giacomo Platini, Daniel Corral, Tom Flaherty, Roberta Vacca, Wayne Marshall, Vera Ivanova, Jeffrey Holmes, Jack Van Zandt, Bernhard Lang, Carmelo Lacertosa, and Morgan Hayes.

"Betwixt bach" - for solo violin![]() Commissioned for the 300th anniversary of the completion of the Bach Six Sonatas and Partitas for Solo Violin, McKinley will compose a set of connecting movements, including a prelude and postlude, for violinist Erik Rohde to be premiered in the fall of 2020. Soliloquy III for solo Dulcimer![]() Commissioned by Alex Lubet, McKinley will compose a solo work for mountain dulcimer to be premiered in the fall of 2019.
